I ended up sewing my finger last week and was a little terrified of my sewing machine for a few days. My finger is fine now. I think the tetanus shot hurt worse! I'm one of those people who reads every single side effect on the sheet that comes with vaccinations and I come down with the symptoms as I read them. I'm terrible! I'm going to try to keep my finger away from the needle from now on!Anyway, progress! I finally have some! Last time I had an update on these projects was February 27. I finally got some forward momentum going after a very slow month.
In Progress
- X's and O's Quilt from Olive Tree Designs (Using Bonnie & Camille's Ruby) - About 30% done with this top. I was totally regretting doing a quilt composed completely of HSTs after the first row, but around row two I finally got consistent with my points. I love the negative space on this top!
- Diamond Lace Shawl from Learn New Stitches on Circle Looms by Ann Bipes - I'm loving the striping in this yarn! I seriously have 5 inches left on this shawl, so I should be done by now. I don't watch as much TV when the husband isn't home, so I haven't sat down to finish it. This project inspired me to break way from the loom and learn how to knit for real, so I signed up for the Craftsy Knit Lab course. I hope I come out of the course with something wearable. I'll let y'all know!
- Charming Flowers Quilt from Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Charm Quilts by Pam Lintott (Using Etchings By 3 Sisters) - About 70% done. I made a few minor changes and I like how it is turning out. While I thought I was good and read the directions on this one, I actually just glanced at the page and assumed I knew what was going on. Guess what! I didn't! I ended up having to get some extra supplies and having a bunch of leftover triangles. Lesson learned: It is important to read the introduction and the instructions (and the supply list)! There's some good information in there!

Oh my gosh - poor finger! For some reason I always tell myself it must be nearly impossible to sew your finger (obviously I like to delude myself). I am also way behind on my NYB blocks - hopefully I can catch up over Easter.
Yikes! My finger had some sympathetic pains as I read your post. Ouch.
Lovely projects you've got going here. I admit your completion estimates made me chuckle - 30%, 70% etc. :)
So sorry to hear about your injury...I'm wincing just thinking about it. Your projects are looking great, though. I really love the way the Etchings quilt is coming along!
Oh I have done that... when I first started free motion quilting- it hurt soooo bad! Lessons learned are never free, and I guarantee you won't do it twice! :) Love your Hootenanay quilt- super super cute!
Ouch that sounds painful! No wonder you were a bit hesitant to sew - I think I would be too!
Loving the Ruby quilt top so far.I'm starting to get a bit of a collection of quilt tops too - really need to get them finished.

Ouch! Your poor finger! I really like your Charming Flowers. I used that pattern a little while ago and loved it. I totally understand about the collection of tops! I've decided NOT to start a single new project until at least 3 or 4 of my tops become finished quilts.
Ouch! and double ouch! Everything looks great though. Way to get back on the saddle. :)
Yikes! Glad to see it didn't slow down your sewing - your HSTs look fantastic - and I love the fabric you chose.
youch! I haven't managed to sew my finger.....yet. I sure do poke my fingers with pins all the time though.
